We have been here several times now and it has became our favorite place to take our camper. Winter or summer this place is great. Affordable, quiet and just all around absolutely beautiful.
Most rude person we've ever encountered at the entrance. Rates are not what they say on their website. I asked for improved primitive and she told me $30 . Website says $20. So I told her we would just stay primitive with the horses, we don't need hook up. She proceeded to tell me we can't stay primitive, that's only for tents. So if any one wants to stay there with horses they have to pay for hook ups only unless you have a tent. Not worth $40 a night for 2 people and only have 7 miles of trails. Go 50 mins south to a better horse camp, because they obviously don't want horses.
First time visit here with some friends. We had a really good time. Not many people were there when we arrived. So it was a nice slow, relaxing, tube trip and very quiet. So we really enjoyed that. The water was cold and that made it nice on a hot August day in lower Alabama. The entire park area was really clean and I could see this being a nice place to camp in the fall when the tempatures have come down to below 115 to something better suited for camping. Like say something around 55 degrees. No alcohol allowed signs near the water area and that is good to see. All in all it was a good time. The young man driving the bus that dropped us at the tube entry area was courteous and very respectful. He and I chatted till drop off. That's always good when it seems they enjoy their job and helps guests have a better experience. So thank you to him. I'm sure we will visit again.
Enjoyed our stay! Had a great time with friends and family. Enjoyed riding trails, swimming, and tubing however we stayed in the campground and booked a premium spot was not contacted until pulling in that we were not able to dump there but they had a dump station was nearby unfortunately we do not have a portable waste holding tank and did not know we would need one since we were called upon arriving. But they did fix it the very next morning and we finally got to enjoy our own bathroom maybe if they called us sooner to let us know and their bathrooms were a little dirty.
We love tubing here because of the family friendly atmosphere and have for many years. We went on a Monday when it wasn’t busy at all. The lady at the shack when you arrive is very disrespectful and rude. We had a lunchbox with our toddler and daughters thermoses in it because of the heat and them needing water. The lady very rudely told us that ice-chest or lunchboxes are not allowed anymore. How can you expect people to be in heat that is over 100 degrees but not have adequate hydration.
Camping here is always nice, last 2 trips caught no fish, they say the lakes are stocked yearly, but that doesn't seem to be the case, as no one is catching anything.
This is our 'go to' campground right now. We love the walking paths, lakes, and the spring-fed river with a current to beat all! I cannot attest to the status of the restrooms since we always use our camper instead.
Great price for tube rental an RV spots very enjoyable quiet can't wait to go back.. Enjoyed the creek an tubeing very much. Great place to just getaway.
